Lebanon's cultural and artistic life is rich, but it is scattered across dozens of accounts and pages. We gather what deserves your time — articles, films, episodes, books, exhibitions and events — and sets it out in seven categories: books, visual arts, music, lifestyle, screen, media, and architecture & city.

We are a guide and a source at once: we point to work published elsewhere and say why it is worth reading or watching, and we write our own pieces, «نوافذ» (Windows) first among them. The calendar shows what is on this week, in the city near you.

Whatever carries the byline “Zawiya Tahawwul” was written and checked by the editorial team. Work by others carries its author's name and a link to where it was first published.

The platform has its own starting point and identity, and it is open to every writer, artist and initiative whose work fits its vision. We want to represent where we come from without shutting ourselves off from anyone.

In time we want the platform to become a living archive of cultural and artistic memory: read in Arabic, translated into English, French and Spanish where a translation exists, and always marking what a machine translated.
